Best of luck with the appeal frankie.we hope common sense will prevail and that you and your family can put this mess behind you and concentrate on successful world and european cup campaigns.

Ed Burke 8/27/2003 7:16:10 PM EST
This 2 year ban is scandoulous in the extreme. The only message this sends out is that asthmatics are not entitled to play sport! It's time our Government Ministers got off their backsides and got involved. You can be sure that if it was an Irish international soccer player involved here, Bertie would have enough to say.

Joshua 8/27/2003 4:23:09 PM EST
Best of luck for next week. I really hope that you will be playing for Ireland at the World Cup. BEST OF LUCK! YOU HAVE MY FULL SUPPORT.

Noel 8/27/2003 3:05:11 PM EST
Best of luck on the 1st Sept. Hard to imagine how a sporting body could come to that conclusion.

Louise 8/27/2003 3:05:11 PM EST
Hi there Frankie, Hope all goes well on Monday! You have full support and best wishes from my whole family. Will be great to see you in action again.

paul & leah 8/27/2003 3:05:11 PM EST
Frankie best of luck next week, we are right behind you. see you at the world cup!

Noelette 8/27/2003 1:14:04 PM EST
Hey, I've had asthma since i was born, Im 21 now and haven't had an attack since i was 12. Thats only because I use my inhalers as directed and when I feel I need them. having an attack is scary. I feel that the people who imposed the ban did not handle the case properly, and complete lack empathy with Frankie and others with the same condition. I hope the ban is lifted. Best of luck in the future.

Damo Murphy 8/27/2003 1:14:04 PM EST
Keep the head up Frankie, everyone is behind you. Good luck on the 1st. Just will prevail. We will see you tearing around the pitch again in Aussieland. (Shanakiel old school)

Olivia 8/27/2003 1:14:04 PM EST
Every good wish, Frankie, with the forthcoming appeal. Look forward to see you on the pitch very soon. You are missed.

Lorraine O D 8/27/2003 1:14:04 PM EST
Best of Luck in your appeal, as an asthma sufferer myself I know very often you do need to administer a lot of ventolin - the whole situation is a disgrace!!

Miriam 8/27/2003 1:14:04 PM EST
Just wanted to add my voice to the thousands of supporters and fellow asthma sufferers who are appalled at this ridiculous decision by the ERC to ban one of Ireland's top athletes. What kind of message is this sending out to young asthma-suffering athletes - is the ERC trying to prevent asthmatics from participating in playing rugby or any other sport? Nevertheless, the best of luck on 1st Sept, Frankie - you WILL be totally exhonerated.

Munster Fan 8/27/2003 1:14:04 PM EST
Hey frankie it just goes to show the rucks and mauls don't just happen on the field. Win this scrum and you will be back playing for us again!

Liz Ahern 8/27/2003 1:14:04 PM EST

Mary Hayes 8/27/2003 1:14:04 PM EST

Kieran 8/26/2003 11:37:34 AM EST
Frankie. As an asthma sufferer myself I cannot believe how you've been treated. People like you should be held up as an example of how not to let a medical condition stop you achieving your potential on the sporting field. I hope everything works out for you in Sept. You have my 100% support !!

newcastlewest rfc 8/26/2003 11:37:34 AM EST
best of luck with your appeal frankie. where all 100% behind you. hoping to see you back in the munster and irish jersey as soon as possible.

Shelly, UL, Limerick, ; ) 8/26/2003 10:24:55 AM EST
As a fellow asthmatic i think its not only fair that you should have an equal playing field as all the rest, having to depend on an inhaler to aid breathing should not be a punishable offence, nor should it be seen as a reason to end someones professional career. i feel very strongly that this is sending out the wrong message to the young impressionable athletes who look upon the likes of frankie sheehan as their role model. my god there are worse 'drugs' out there that a person could be taking frankie, for what its worth, i wish you the best of luck, for now and for the world cup ;)

Leo 8/26/2003 10:09:22 AM EST
Red tide of support is stronger than ever and right behind you Frankie, justice will prevail no question.

Best of luck with the appeal and we look forward to seeing you back in the red shirt for this season's games.

Jack McGee 8/25/2003 2:50:20 PM EST
It's high time the international sporting community and the people who run the various sporting organisations stopped messing good athletes with legitimate and common conditions ( like asthma) around. All these athletes want to do is play for their club/country and they are being denied this opportunity by bureaucratic, incompetent officials. It's truly a disgrace how some of these organisations are run and needless to say nobody would dare penalise them or their employees for their incompetence and reckless behaviour. Is it time that the real assets of these organisations - the players and athletes - took action and stand firm against the blazers and sheepskin coats ?? Good luck Frankie.

Big Dave 8/25/2003 2:50:20 PM EST
Frankie, it's not the first time this bunch of eejits has messed around with Munster, and it won't be the last. I wasn't sure what to believe after the announcement, maybe I thought you had gone and tried to cod us all. But having read so much material and details about how the ERC have handled this case, I know you'll be back in the red shirt soon. We're with you on this Frankie!

jane 8/25/2003 2:50:20 PM EST
hope everything goes according toplan with the appeal and we will see frankie back on the pitch where he belongs. I cant believe that this is even taking as long as it is cause we all know thesimple reason behind this a simple error it could happen to the pope. Liam Holmes 8/25/2003 10:32:31 AM EST
The last couple of months must have been a nigntmare for you as an athlete and an asthmatic! Sense will hopefully prevail at the appeal. All the best and looking forward to seeing you back in Munster and Irish colours next month!

Lansdowne RFC New York 8/25/2003 4:35:50 AM EST
Just when rugby in Europe is beginning to match the southern hemishere you get knuckle-heads like these making ridiculous decisions. Its safe to say they've cost us at least one Cup.I hope they get some sense behind the decision making and let you back where you belong.Keep the faith.

Gary & Jen Murphy in Tucson, Arizona 8/25/2003 4:35:50 AM EST

Allergic sportsman 8/22/2003 7:22:24 PM EST
So the IOC and WADA want you to stay below 1000ng per ml of urine, the sun beats down, the games tough, you're allergic to pollen, and you want to play by the rules. You get an asthmatic attack, you fear testing positive, you throw away the inhaler, and collapse.....comatose: Question: who is liable for your sudden loss of health?? WADA? IOC? A bloody dangerous game, boys!

Brendan Quinn 8/22/2003 7:22:24 PM EST
as Editor of www.sports-drugs.com and as a Pharmacist, asthmatic and GAA footballer, I agree totally with

Paul O Keeffe 8/22/2003 5:43:23 PM EST
Frankie Sheahan over the past few years has embodied everything that is good and honest about sport and specifically Munster rugby. We have followed this fine players exploits throughout europe with pride and will continue to offer unequivical support, not simply because he is a sportsman, but because he is a man of integrity and one of our own.

Premier Red 8/22/2003 5:43:23 PM EST
As a life long asthmatic and avid sportsman, I sympathise completely with Frankie. I have spent my entire sporting life sucking on ventolin inhalers and doing so 8/10 times through the life cycle of a game was never beyond me, particularly in times of inclement weather or high velocity encounters. True this may be seen as just habit but never the less, it is a fact of an asthmatics life particularly when involved in sport at a high level. It appals me to see uninformed judgements being passed, Frankie, you have my ultimate support and hopefully the right decision will be made on Sept 1st.....best of luck mate, we need you.

Muiris Horgan 8/22/2003 5:06:51 PM EST
Best of luck Frankie in your appeal, hopefully justice will win the day. From Muiris Horgan and everybody in Castleisland RFC

Ballynanty End 8/22/2003 12:54:04 PM EST
Best of luck to you and your team for the challange ahead on the 1st Sept. Over the past 20 years, you have meet all challenges head-on and won. Once you walk away victorious from this appeal with your head held high, we can all look back at the ERC for the pityful bunch they are. Then get on with your Rugby and life and SUE the bast**ds in the courts. Take them for millions in the Courts and your action and inspiration will be the legal prescedent for all futute appeals. Our full support is with you every step of the way.

Santo 8/22/2003 12:54:04 PM EST
As Jimmy Cliff once sang

Brian G 8/22/2003 12:18:39 PM EST
Hang in there Frankie. Stay fit and I'm sure will see you back in the Munster and Ireland jersey before you know it. That fact that a player of your class, skill and honour gets banned because of red tape is a disgrace. Your top class, never give up! UP MUNSTER!

Colm 8/22/2003 11:40:56 AM EST
Frankie, looking forward to seeing you in the Munster colours again soon. Best of luck and remember keep the head up and stand up and fight !

Elena King 8/22/2003 11:40:56 AM EST
I am writing to express my full support to Frankie and his family. The rules have to be changed in relation to medication as opposed to drugs. No one wants to see drugs in sport but even top sportsmen can be asthmatic. They can't help it any more than other mortals and have to take medication to be able to do their job. They should not be penalised for the condition they have no control over. Good luck with your hearing, Frankie, and hope to see you soon in the red shirt of Munster. Look forward to the next encounter with the Tigers (hopefully we'll beat you, though!) Best of luck to you and your family

Big Toome 8/22/2003 10:26:57 AM EST
Best of luck on the 1st Frankie. See you at the World Cup

donnybrook 8/22/2003 10:26:56 AM EST
I hope alan has the no.2 jersey ready for you on the 5/9/03. best of luck

Terry Murphy 8/22/2003 9:17:03 AM EST
Frankie, I am appalled at the ban handed out be the ERC & can only hope that they see sense and allow you back in the Red Shirt asap. Best of luck in the appeal & hope to see you playing again soon. All the best, Terry

Kieran Leahy 8/22/2003 9:17:03 AM EST
From a Boherbue man and a fellow asthmatic, I wish you the best of luck in clearing your name Frankie, and look forward to seeing you in the World Cup.

Fearghus Mc Cormack -- New Zealand 8/22/2003 9:17:03 AM EST
Best of luck with the appeal. The ban is so ludicrous it'd be funny if it wasn't for the effect it could have if the ERC don't get their heads out of their asses. Looking forward to seeing you in the Munster & Ireland jersey again.

Ronan Hurley 8/22/2003 1:38:46 AM EST
Hi Frankie, PJ here. Best of Luck from me, Liam, Sinéad and Mary. We know you did nothing wrong and have full confidence that this cretinous ban will be lifted. It's quite clear that the ERC have dismissed clear evidence and the facts to make a pointless example of a professional player. This kind of stupidity sends out a terrible message to sports men and women who suffer from medical conditions. To me it also suggests that the ERC are willing to place the health of the players in Jeopardy by punishing someone for taking Medication. As for the Form, as i said to Frankie a few months back, players should only have to sign one form, standardised by the IRB which should cover all competitions, International, European and AIL. Would it be the hardest thing in the world to photocopy these forms and send them to the relevant associations.

Nathan, London 8/22/2003 1:05:50 AM EST
Frankie, I am writing to you from London and let me say that there is massive support mounting here in England in your favour.......
